Other than poor choices in structural design the most common problem customers will experience with chivari chairs is wood cracking and splitting. Wood expands and contracts even after construction into a finished item like a chair. We buy the wood in bulk and more than a year in advance. The wood is then delivered and "cured" over 8-12 months by repeatedly being sprayed and dried, this causes the expansion & contraction to be worked out of the wood. Our factory also kilns for 28 days to help prevent spliting by expansion

BOLTS vs Screws? NO CONTEST !!! Why don't SCREWS belong in your chivari chair design? For the same reason that they do not belong in your plywood banquet tables. Rental use stresses the joints of all wood chivari chairs. Weak joints can jeopardize your chivari chair investment. Repeated use will inevitably loosen screws and require additional costly and lengthy maintenance. How many times can you retighten wood screws before they will strip out? Long before you will ready to retire that valuable investment. BOLTS provide stronger joints, allow for REPEATED TIGHTENING and will not limit the lifetime of your chair investment. Our LEGACY Chivari Chair employs MECHANICAL tighetening at those points where a wood ballroom chair needs it the most - easy maintenance is critical to making a profit & a long term return on investment!
